The Battleground Premium Live Event on Sunday was the first pro wrestling event performed at the UFC Apex facility. Backstage, "NXT" creative chief Michaels congratulated Gryphon on his UFC Hall of Fame career by shaking his hand.

The event at the Apex marks the first UFC-WWE collaboration since their merger under the TKO name. UFC President Dana White said the two promotions work separately but that some of his team has worked with WWE.
